SOUND-PROOFING AID

Financial aid may be granted, subject to conditions, to local residents wishing to perform sound-proofing work.

The scheme
Bordeaux Airport assists local residents with all their formalities, from the application through to the end of work.
The financial aid comes wholly from the airlines using the platform that pay a tax on airport noise pollution (TNSA), a tax which varies depending on the weight of each aircraft, its acoustic category and its take-off time (day, evening or night).

Conditions for allocating aid
- The premises must be located in one of the areas in the Noise Annoyance Plan (PGS) in force for the Bordeaux Airport.

- The building permit must have been issued prior to the Noise Exposure Plan in force at the same time.

- The premises may be housing (other than hotels), teaching establishments or health or social premises (subject to conditions).

Aid may not be granted retroactively. Residents must therefore take all the required steps after their application is accepted by the airport.
