The creation of the 1st newly built no frills terminal in France is taking shape in Bordeaux with the installation of all the framework which will house the 4,000 m² of the new building to be inaugurated in May 2010.
« billi » - a contraction of Bordeaux illico - will be dedicated to low cost flights to and from Bordeaux. Ryanair, encouraged by the prospects of this new terminal, recently announced the opening of flights connecting Bordeaux to Brussels-Charleroi (December 17) and Bologna, Oporto and Edinburgh (end of March 2010).
In 2009, the low cost airlines already had flights connecting Bordeaux and Liverpool, London Luton, Bristol, Geneva, Basle, Mulhouse, Lyon (Easyjet), Manchester (Bmibaby), Southampton (Flybe), Dublin (Aer Lingus), Oslo, Stockholm (Norwegian) and Marrakech (Atlas Blue).
