Bordeaux-Merignac Airport

The very first flight to France by new low-cost airline Volotea landed today at 8.25am on the tarmac of Bordeaux Airport! The arrival of the Boeing 717 from Venice was greeted by airline and airport management in the presence of passengers waiting to board the Bordeaux-Venice return flight. Musicians were on hand playing in the style of Rondo Veneziano to accompany this inaugural flight, the first in a series of seven routes being launched from Bordeaux airport, announced recently by Volotea: after Venice with three direct flights a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), the airline will soon be starting up its flights to and from Bastia, Ajaccio, Toulon, Ibiza, Malaga and Palermo.
