Bordeaux Airport reaches a new milestone as it welcomes and celebrates its “4 millionth”!
It was a passenger on the early-morning Air Austral flight who came to symbolise the historic milestone of 4 million passengers at Bordeaux Airport. On flight n°UU947 from Reunion Island, drawn at random from all the passengers, the “4 millionth” was a young woman originally from the Island and now settled in the Bordeaux region.
After one million passengers at Bordeaux-Mérignac in 1980, 2 million in 1988 and 3 million in both 2000 and 2005, Nadine M. received a warm welcome this morning from Bordeaux Airport and Air Austral, whose representative presented her with a ticket for her next trip to Reunion Island.
Numerous airport staff came to welcome and celebrate the arrival of their “4 millionth”, and alongside the passengers and the public they enjoyed a large gourmet buffet accompanied by music from the group ContreBand.
Nadine M. left the terminal laden with presents, including a magnum gift pack of Croix de Guyenne, the airport’s own wine produced by Domaine de Chevalier, and a schedule of excursions in the wine region and in discovery of “Offbeat Bordeaux”, as well as tasting sessions concocted by the Bordeaux Tourist Office.
