Bordeaux airport is launching a completely new and improved version of its website www.bordeaux.aeroport.fr. Designed and produced by the Bordeaux company Clever Age, the new site is more comprehensive, more user-friendly, offering many new services and is looking to two main commercial assets to increase traffic: "Best deals" offered by tour operators and on-line sales.
Developed around the relevant standards and practices of internet accessibility, the new website offers content in context to make surfing the net more accessible and more comfortable.
By downloading an interactive widget, even when you are not connected to the website you can check on Best Deals and flights in and out of Bordeaux from your PC desktop, compatible mobile phone, or customised home page (via a service like Netvibes). Best Deals and the latest news are also offered in RSS feed format.
The website content has been enhanced with new services and sections, notably:
-job offers with the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport Authority, and a link to the website
of PLIE (Local action plan for Integration and Employment), working in partnership with the airport and where you can submit your job application,
-I ♥ Bordeaux: a page that guides the net surfer to a selection of useful sites to help you discover Bordeaux or organise your stay in the region,
-an interactive map to make it easy to find your way inside the airport terminal,
-a map showing the traffic situation around the airport in real time,
A user-name access space is reserved for travel producers and distributors flying out of Bordeaux. Tour operators put on-line the products that agencies are selling, in particular their special offers, which are visible on the home page in the Best Deals section. When an internet customer has chosen his trip, he can click immediately on the travel agency of his choice, from the directory of tourism professionals that appears in the public part of the site, close to the area dedicated to the airline companies.
The airport's business activities and services are more clearly visible, with a 7/7 Shopping section offering a variety of product selections. There are also details of how to book a conference room in the Business Centre.
All destinations served by scheduled or seasonal flights are shown on an interactive map and from here the user can navigate to the page for his destination: real time weather reports, things to see and do, list of flights, Best Deals, useful information ... all destinations are covered.
Visible on the home page and accessible from each destination page, a query engine takes the surfer straight to the Opodo e-business website, the airport's partner in selling travel products leaving from Bordeaux.
As part of our on-line launch campaign, visitors to the new site are invited, throughout the summer, to test their knowledge and try their luck in 60 seconds to win a holiday for two in Marrakech or a weekend flight to one of Europe's major capitals.
