Monarch Airlines, the British airline specialised in leisure flights, has arrived in Bordeaux and is launching a new flight to Birmingham starting on 22 May 2013. It will be operating A320 (180-seater) aircraft three times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays:

Monarch Airlines is now the 9th company to offer low-cost flights leaving from Bordeaux.
In 2012 more than 1,300,000 passengers took low-cost flights from Bordeaux, which is around 30% of overall traffic. In the summer 2013 season, Bordeaux will be offering 9 destinations in the British Isles: Birmingham (Monarch), Bristol (easyJet), Cork (Ryanair), Dublin (Aer Lingus), Edinburgh (Ryanair), Liverpool (easyJet), London-Gatwick (British Airways, easyJet), London-Luton (easyJet) and Southampton (Flybe).
