François Bacchetta, Managing director of easyJet in France, comments:
"The investment that we are making by opening 4 new international routes in Bordeaux just proves how attractive Bordeaux and its region are.
We are delighted to offer the people of Bordeaux the opportunity to travel around Europe and North Africa at extremely competitive prices.
By extending our offer to European capitals, and in particular Brussels and Amsterdam all year round, we are also providing business passengers with new economic development opportunities.
In short, we are proud to bring the people of Bordeaux closer to Europe and to develop the ‘easyJet generation’ further".
easyJet in Bordeaux,
In September 2013, easyJet saw an increase of 18.2% in flights from Bordeaux Airport (Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport figures).
Today easyJet is the number 1 European airline company in terms of network: it operates on the 100 biggest routes and in the 50 largest airports in Europe. The “orange company” operates more than 200 aircraft and offers over 600 routes, between over 130 airports in 30 countries. Today, over 300 million Europeans are less than an hour away from an airport served by the company.
easyJet takes sustainable development very seriously. Thanks to its investments in the latest technology, aircraft efficiency (rotational optimisation, latest generation aircraft...) and seat occupancy rates, an easyJet flight uses on average 22% less CO2 per passenger than traditional airline companies with the same aircraft and journey time.
