From 11 February 2011, the AIR AUSTRAL scheduled airline will be operating TWO FLIGHTS a week from BORDEAUX to ST DENIS DE LA REUNION. Thanks to this service, travellers from the Aquitaine Region will no longer have to go via Paris to head for the Indian Ocean and on to other AIR AUSTRAL destinations. Pascal Personne, President of the Board of Bordeaux Mérignac Airport, declared that he was "most enthusiastic about the opening of a permanent scheduled service between Bordeaux and this high-potential long-haul destination".
