BOD 2018 Milestone

On the starting blocks !

Already an incredible busy agenda for our first quarter which saw:

• February 28th: Volotea’s Base 5th anniversary

In presence of Lázaro Ros, General Manager Volotea, Pascal Personne, BOD Airport CEO, Catherine Caraglio, Head of Route Development, Edo Friart, International Manager Volotea, and Jean-Luc Poiroux, VP for Business Development.

The airline company will soon reach its 2 million passengers !
With 1.7 million passengers and an increase of 37% in 2017, Volotea will offer three new routes and 740,000 seats this year, and not less than 29 destinations from Bordeaux.

• March 8th: the Launch of Swiss and Lufthansa Summer program

In presence of Michael Gloor, Lufthansa Group Director for France, Pascal Personne, BOD Airport CEO, and Stefan  Kreuzpaintner, Lufthansa Group EMEA Sales VP.Lufthansa Group triples flights operated from Bordeaux.

In response to strong demand for new routes from Bordeaux, Lufthansa Group has announced the launch of a Bordeaux-Zurich link, as well as an increase in the number of flights between Bordeaux and Frankfurt. The 2018 Summer schedule will include an additional 18 weekly rotations, bringing the total number of flights to 25 per week.

• March 15th: Air Transat’s Press conference and BtoB Workshop

Which saw 60 participants;  the Company confirming its dynamics and commitment  to grow in Bordeaux, offering this Summer a 33% seat increase, one additional weekly rotation to Montreal renewing also access to other Canadian destinations much requested by our fellow citizens.

• March 26th: the Launching of BOD S18 program with not less than 19 new routes.

First Bordeaux-Zurich flight with Swiss on 26th of March, and first Bordeaux-Warsaw flight with Wizz Air on 27th of March


• March 28th: the Inauguration of easyJet Bordeaux Base

In presence of Stephan Delaux, Bordeaux Deputy Mayor, Pascal Personne, BOD Airport CEO, Jean-Luc Poiroux, VP for Business Development, easyJet CEO Johan Lundgren, and François Bacchetta, easyJet Director for France. 

In its initial stage, the base will see the integration of (3) A320 aircraft, resulting in 20% capacity increase and a target of over 2.2 million passengers in 2018. The Cie will be adding (9) new routes totaling 31 for its S18 programme; these new routes include Bastia, Catane, Faro, Heraklion, Ibiza, London Southend, Luxembourg, Tel Aviv & Rhodes.

In the process the Cie will create 110 jobs locally; taking also delivery of a brand new Crew room designed to ideally integrate billi’s structure. The low cost dedicated Terminal will
also benefit from a new configuration designed to optimize the use of
the facilities and facilitate passengers experience.

 

A dynamic & successful year for BOD Airport

2017 at BOD airport marked a new attendance record with over 6,2 million passengers (+7.7% compared to 2016). The internationalisation of the network and the arrival of 5 new airlines have strongly supported this raise in traffic.
