Head to Bordeaux for an unforgettable stay!

program birmingham

Discover beautiful Bordeaux, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007, elected best European destination in 2015, and named “the best city to travel to in 2017” by the influential Lonely Planet guidebooks.

Wander between historic monuments such as the Opera House, and treat yourself to a shopping spree in the heart of the pedestrian district. Don't forget to stop off for a glass of wine on one of the city’s many sunny terraces.

Take a long bicycle ride along the River Garonne, which will reward you with a panoramic view of the city.

Bordeaux would not be what it is today without its winegrowing heritage! Visit some of the many vineyards near Saint-Emilion or the Médoc to discover the region's wine, enjoying new flavours at each wine tasting. Then to expand your wine knowledge even further, head to the new La Cité du Vin museum.

To round out your trip, nothing beats a breath of fresh air on the Atlantic coast. Enjoy the sight of surfers riding the waves, and beaches stretching as far as the eye can see! Last stop is the Bay of Arcachon, where you can savour delicious seafood in authentic fishing shacks.

Bordeaux is also close to other beautiful cities such as La Rochelle and Biarritz, just a two-hour drive away.
