Varsovie, la seconde destination bordelaise de Wizz Air

26/07/2017

Before even opening its first connection between Budapest and Bordeaux on 22nd September, the budget airline Wizz Air has already announced a new link to Warsaw which will be in place from spring 2018.
This is a West of France exclusive for Bordeaux airport which now welcomes the biggest budget airline in central and eastern Europe. This announcement is part of Wizz Air’s development strategy in France, after expanding to the airports of Paris-Beauvais, Nice and Lyon. With this new destination in the bag, Bordeaux further accelerates the development of its network of lines to eastern Europe.

Bordeaux-Warsaw flights will take place twice a week on the Airbus A320 on Wednesdays and Sundays. The opening of the first link to Poland from Bordeaux will allow travellers to reach its capital in under 3 hours.

Departure from Bordeaux at 16 :10 – Arrival in Warsaw at 19 :00
Departure from Warsaw at 12:50 – Arrival in Bordeaux at 15:40

According to Pascal Personne, the Airport’s Director: “This line to Poland is a first for Bordeaux Airport. Evidently the teams here at the airport are delighted. Firstly because, whether for business or pleasure, it’s offering travellers from the region the option of discovering a new, yet economically significant country in Europe on a direct flight from Bordeaux. It also allows them to explore this magnificent capital city which is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. It’s also fantastic to see the trust that an airline leader such as Wizz Air has put in the Bordeaux market and more generally in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.”

Gabor Vasarhelyi, Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: "We are thrilled to announce another exciting WIZZ route from Bordeaux Airport. Along with Budapest, Warsaw is the second city we fly on our low fares from Bordeaux and we are sure French consumers will appreciate visiting this dynamic Easter-European capital, which is known as the city of palaces, royal gardens and grand parks.  On the other we are also confident that our low fares will attract more Polish customers to Southwestern France, which could stimulate tourism and hospitality industries in the region. Tickets are already on sale starting from €49.99* on wizzair.com. Our friendly crew looks forward to welcoming you on board one of our new aircraft a with a smile!”

Reminder: From 22nd September Wizz Air will be offering two flights per week to Budapest, Mondays and Fridays, from the budget terminal billi
