HEADING TO SEVILLE: VOLOTEA UNVEILS AN ANDALUSIAN GEM TO BORDEAUX TRAVELLERS!

With the announcement of this new route, Volotea continues to strengthen its presence in Bordeaux and reaffirms its commitment to improving connectivity in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Seville, the capital of Andalusia, is a true cultural gem of the Iberian Peninsula and a highly sought-after destination. Its architectural treasures – such as Plaza de España, the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See, and the Torre del Oro – along with its iconic cultural festivities, sunny climate, and rich gastronomy, all contribute to the city’s strong identity. Volotea will operate this route every Tuesday and Saturday, offering nearly 15,000 seats, giving Bordeaux residents the opportunity to escape to the iconic Andalusian region.

Gilles Gosselin, Country Manager France at Volotea, comments: “We are thrilled to announce the launch of this new route to Spain. It’s a reflection of our enduring commitment to the region. We aim to offer Bordeaux-based travelers an ever-growing, inspiring range of destinations. This expansion of our network from Bordeaux would not have been possible without the invaluable support of Bordeaux Airport, with whom we’ve built a trusted partnership over the past 12 years.”

Volotea has been operating in Bordeaux for over 12 years, and now offers 38 destinations across 10 countries (Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Morocco, and the Czech Republic). This growing network reaffirms its position as Bordeaux Airport’s second-largest carrier in terms of routes. In May 2025, the airline will expand its fleet with the addition of a new Airbus A320, bringing the number of aircraft based in Bordeaux to three. This new aircraft will also create 30 direct jobs, increasing the total number of local employees to 110, along with approximately 630 indirect jobs – highlighting Volotea’s significant economic and social impact in the region.
