Volotea continues to strengthen its presence at Bordeaux Airport with the announcement of a brand-new route between Bordeaux and Valencia, launching on 7 November. The airline becomes the first European carrier to operate direct flights between the two cities.
A NEW ESCAPE: VOLOTEA OPENS THE DOORS TO VALENCIA AND ITS WONDERS FOR TRAVELLERS FROM BORDEAUX!
This new route meets growing demand from Bordeaux passengers for Mediterranean Spain. Valencia, Spain’s third-largest city and the birthplace of paella, is known for its cutting-edge architecture such as the City of Arts and Sciences, its urban beaches, and its world-famous Fallas festival. Volotea will operate the route every Friday and Sunday, with more than 12,000 seats available, giving Bordeaux residents the perfect opportunity for a weekend getaway.
With this addition, Volotea further strengthens the strategic role of its Bordeaux base, now serving 39 destinations in 10 countries, making it the second-largest airline at Bordeaux Airport by number of destinations. Spain now represents over a quarter of its Bordeaux offering, with 11 routes: Alicante, Barcelona, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Madrid, Malaga, Menorca, Palma de Mallorca, Seville, Tenerife South, and Valencia.
"We are very pleased to announce the launch of this new route to Spain. Valencia is the perfect destination for travellers in search of authenticity and a Mediterranean getaway. This vibrant city combines outstanding heritage, renowned cuisine, and unique urban beaches. With this new direct flight, we are reaffirming our commitment to improving connectivity for our customers in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and to fostering exchanges between Europe’s regional capitals,"said Gilles Gosselin.
Present in Bordeaux for over 12 years, Volotea – the airport’s second-largest airline by number of routes – continues to grow its Bordeaux base through new services and fleet expansion. In May 2025, the airline celebrated the arrival of a new Airbus A320, bringing its total to three aircraft based in Bordeaux. This new addition has created 30 direct jobs, bringing the total to 110 employees, along with nearly 630 indirect jobs, underlining Volotea’s major economic and social impact in the region.
Tickets for flights departing from Bordeaux are now on sale via all distribution channels and on Volotea’s website: www.volotea.com.
