Ryanair’s Chief Commercial Officer, David O'Brien, declared in Bordeaux:
We are delighted to be opening Ryanair’s second French base at Bordeaux Airport, which will bring 1.1 million customers a year, create employment for 60 pilots and cabin crew with Ryanair, and support 825* airport jobs. We expect to announce additional investment by Ryanair at Bordeaux and other French airports in the coming months.

We also have the pleasure of announcing the launch of our busiest ever summer timetable for Bordeaux, with 24 routes, including 16 new flights to and from some fascinating cities like Copenhagen, Mykonos and Tangiers. To mark the occasion, we’re selling seats for these new destinations from €24.99 for flights in April 2019. This offer is available for bookings made by midnight on Monday (1 Oct). Considering the very low prices, we expect these seats to go quickly and invite our clients to visit www.ryanair.com as soon as possible in order to benefit from this offer.

Pascal Personne, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport Management Company, stated:
Ryanair’s decision to base two aircraft at Bordeaux Airport is excellent news both for the airport and for our region. The new base will without doubt give Nouvelle Aquitaine even stronger appeal and provide opportunities to increase the number of new destinations on offer. Beyond this offering, we believe that with the commercial power so far demonstrated by Ryanair, the airline’s potential for growth in Bordeaux is enormous and reflects a level of commitment that promises to continue in the long term.

* An ACI study confirms that international airports sustain up to 750 “ground” jobs per 1 million passengers.
