MARRAKECH AND MADRID, TWO SUNNY DESTINATIONS AT BORDEAUX'S DOORSTEP

Eleven years after establishing itself in the Bordeaux region, Volotea is expanding its network with two exciting new destinations:

  • Marrakech, Morocco: Starting from 5 November 2024, with flights scheduled twice a week on Tuesdays and Sundays, Bordeaux residents can explore and experience this ancient imperial city. Bursting with architectural marvels, from historic gardens to bustling souks, the ochre city promises unforgettable experiences.
  • Madrid, Spain: Commencing from 6 November 2024, with flights operating thrice weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This route offers travellers a chance to discover the Spanish capital and its distinctive charm: from the iconic Reina Sofía Museum and the vibrant Plaza Mayor to the serene Buen Retiro Park and its legendary lake.

These destinations are now available for booking through all distribution channels and on the Volotea website: www.volotea.com.

"We are thrilled to announce the launch of these new flights from Bordeaux to Morocco and Spain. Every day, we strive to expand travel options for our passengers and are proud to be able to offer a destination in a new country from Bordeaux. As a pivotal hub in our European network, Bordeaux Airport is a cornerstone for Volotea. The growth of this hub reflects our commitment to further connecting regional capitals of neighbouring countries to France," said Gilles Gosselin, Head of France at Volotea.

Volotea continues to grow its presence in Bordeaux, a key hub for the airline

With the addition of new routes, the airline now offers flights to 32 destinations from Bordeaux, reflecting its strategy to expand internationally by connecting the capital of New Aquitaine to eight countries: France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Croatia, Algeria, and Morocco.

This year, Volotea is set to operate at its highest capacity ever, offering over 900,000 seats—a 17% increase compared to 2023.

Moreover, Volotea boasts a 90% customer recommendation rate, a level of satisfaction which has led to the company winning the Skytrax World Airline Award for "Best Competitive Airline in Europe". This is the second year in a row that Volotea has won this award, confirming its good performance and its position as a major player in the sector.
