From 30th November, easyJet, France's second-largest short and medium-haul airline and Europe's largest in terms of network, will be offering a new international destination from Bordeaux, still at an affordable fare: Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland on Finland's Arctic Circle. This addition comes alongside two other destinations already announced for winter 2024/2025: Zurich and Rome Fiumicino.

As the leading regional airline in France outside Paris, easyJet is addressing the need for fast and affordable connectivity between French regions and international destinations. The airline confirms its commitment to linking France with the Nordic countries via direct and appealing routes, offering passengers the opportunity to discover the enchanting beauty of snow-covered landscapes and the breathtaking Northern Lights.

Located in the heart of Lapland, Rovaniemi is perfect for experiencing the magic of winter, particularly during the Christmas season. It offers a tailor-made holiday for families: while the little ones can marvel at Santa's village, older family members can enjoy unique outdoor activities such as skiing, ice fishing, waterfall descents, dog sledding, visiting reindeer farms, and of course, watching the Northern Lights.

Reginald Otten, easyJet's Deputy Managing Director for France, commented:

"I am delighted to announce the launch of a new route from Bordeaux to Rovaniemi. This unique destination will allow our passengers to explore the beauty and wonders of Lapland. As France's leading regional airline outside Paris, we continue our efforts to offer the best network from Bordeaux, providing experiences that are as attractive as they are unforgettable for the millions of Bordeaux residents who place their trust in us every year."

Simon Dreschel, Chairman of the Executive Board of Bordeaux Airport, states:

"For the first time, Bordeaux will be connected to Lapland with a direct flight. The airport continues to adapt its network and strengthen its offering of 'leisure' destinations. Following last week's announcement of two new direct routes to Zurich and Rome, easyJet once again reaffirms its presence in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and our ongoing partnership."
