Preserving water resources
Bordeaux Airport produces more than 90% of its needs in drinking water thanks to a well on site.
This water supplies the majority of facilities and its use is optimised via a number of measures, including leak monitoring, the gradual installation of meters and anti-waste devices in sanitary facilities, etc.
Rainwater is collected in the new international pier in Hall A to supply sanitary facilities.
Run-off water flowing on the water-proofed surfaces of the airport platform represents a potential source of pollution for the natural environment. In order to control the volume and quality of these discharges, a treatment plant was created in 2015 on the main catchment area of the airport platform.
