New: Transavia flies to the Netherlands from Bordeaux
As of 30 March, four direct flights with airline Transavia are taking off each week from Bordeaux to the city of Eindhoven, in the south of the Netherlands. These seasonal flights are a first for Bordeaux and join the other Dutch flights already being offered to Amsterdam. This marks a new destination, but also a new airline company for Bordeaux Airport: Transavia, the low-cost subsidiary of Air France KLM.
As the airport’s new airline partner, Transavia will be operating a Boeing 737-800 to Eindhoven Airport in the Netherlands, until late October 2023. The route is flown on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, with a direct flight time of 1 hour, 45 minutes. This schedule will allow a great number of rotations for business or leisure travel.
“We are very happy to announce the creation of this new route and the arrival of Transavia in Bordeaux. This airline is an important player in the aviation sector, and we are delighted to count them among our partners. The line to Eindhoven is the latest addition to our range of flights to the Netherlands, strengthening the ties between the two countries.” Simon Dreschel, President of Bordeaux Airport’s Management Board.
Eindhoven is the fifth biggest city in the Netherlands. This modern, dynamic metropolis is built around the famous factory of Philips, inventor of the lightbulb. It’s a great destination for a unique weekend, with pedestrian streets lined with shops, restaurants and cafes. The best way to explore this green, accessible city is to rent a bike and join the crowd of cyclists. Culture-lovers can head to the Van Abbemuseum, which has one of the world’s top ten collections of modern art. Throw in an excellent soccer team and an unusual, flying saucer-esque conference centre, and you’ll soon see why everyone has a good reason to go there.
