easyJet, the second largest short and medium-haul airline in France and the leading airline in Europe in terms of network, is now offering tickets for two new destinations from Bordeaux: Zurich and Rome Fiumicino.
With its local base launched over six years ago and more than 30 routes to and from Bordeaux, easyJet continues to expand its local offerings. Following Funchal (Madeira) and Athens as new summer 2024 destinations, the orange airline announces Zurich for next winter and Rome Fiumicino for rugby fans, launched exclusively for one week during the Six Nations Championship.
The Six Nations Championship from February 21 to 24 will be an opportunity for rugby fans to discover Rome, the Eternal City, with its rich history, cuisine, and culture.
A cosmopolitan city, Zurich is located near stunning natural sites, and visitors can enjoy the lake that borders the city. Art enthusiasts will not be disappointed, thanks to Zurich's numerous museums and art galleries. This new route provides direct and affordable access for business travelers, who represent 23% of passengers in the Bordeaux region, a number that has increased from 19% since 2019. As a gateway to Swiss ski resorts, Zurich holds a significant place in easyJet's network as a ski destination. By meeting this growing demand, the orange airline thus becomes a major contributor to the winter sports economy in Europe.
These two new international destinations add to an already attractive offering to Italy—including Milan Malpensa, Olbia in Sardinia, and Catania in Sicily—and to Switzerland, including Basel and Geneva.
The winter service will also be strengthened with Berlin and Bristol, which will now be available year-round, and the Essaouira route, which will resume from October 29 to March 29.
