Nouvelle-Aquitaine is the big winner of the company's transformation plan, launched in 2012 to improve competitiveness by bringing together the teams that design aircraft and those that produce them. The ramp-up of Rafale's production, the development of new programs such as the future European fighter aircraft, the preparation of a new Falcon to expand the range of business jets... lead Dassault Aviation to increase its workforce.

In other words, the 1,600 employees working in Mérignac will soon be joined by several hundred employees currently based in Saint-Cloud (near Paris). Recently, the Argenteuil materials testing laboratories had already migrated to Mérignac. It should also be noted that the Indian mechanics who will maintain the Rafale acquired by their country will soon be trained in Gironde. In short, Mérignac is more than consolidated as the heart of the aircraft manufacturer's operations.

The company plans to recruit around a thousand people in 2019, including 400 in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The Mérignac site is particularly concerned and is preparing to double its workforce in the coming years. A new 25,800 m² tertiary building on four levels, at the forefront of innovation, digital technologies and new working methods, is under construction and should be put into service in early 2021.
