To save time and to choose your seat early you can check in before coming to the airport, if your airline offers this service :
- ON ITS WEBSITE, in the 24 hours before your departure
You can print your travel documents (electronic ticket and boarding card)..
- ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE : your reservation can be confirmed by an SMS.
Keep your mobile phone to hand when you are at the airport.
This form of check-in allows you to go straight to the departure lounge if you are travelling without baggage, or to go to the luggage drop if you need to check in hold luggage.

Restrictions: In some cases advance check-in is not possible, particularly if you are travelling with a baby, if you need PRM assistance, if the passenger is a child travelling alone (Unaccompanied Minor - UM), or if you have an animal with you. Check with your airline.

There are several types of check-in at the airport for the various airlines :
- CHECK-IN AT SELF-SERVICE TERMINALS : Air France makes these terminals available for passengers to check in up to 5 hours before their flight.
- CHECK-IN AT THE DESK : the information screens show the departure time for each flight, the departure hall and the number of the check-in desk which you should go to.
With regard to checking in your luggage make sure you know the size and weight limits for your airline, and what the excess charges are.

The registration deadline is indicated on your ticket.

Remember to arrive on time at the company check-in desk, or at a self-service kiosk for Air France passengers (starting 5 hours before your flight).
In general, it is advisable to arrive at the airport at least 2H to 2H30 before takeoff for a flight in France or Europe and 3H for a flight outside Europe (up to 4H for Canada).
