With a base in Bordeaux since 2012, Volotea, the airline with the greatest number of routes from Bordeaux Airport, pursues its growth with the introduction of two new destinations: Minorca and Cagliari.

The airline will operate the new Bordeaux-Minorca flight on a twice-weekly basis from 30 May 2018, offering a total capacity of over 9,000 seats.

In addition, from 31 May 2018, the airline will connect Bordeaux Airport to Cagliari with once-weekly flights proposing 6,000 seats. This new route will increase the airline's existing offer to Italian destinations (Naples, Olbia, Palermo, Pisa and Venice).

In 2018, the airline's capacity will increase by 22% compared with 2017, reaching some 730,000 seats. In total, the airline will operate more than 5,000 flights next year.

With these two new links, the company will fly to 28 destinations from Bordeaux in 2018, confirming its position as leading airline company in terms of the number of routes available from Bordeaux Airport. From Bordeaux, Volotea operates 28 routes, including 5 in France (Ajaccio, Bastia, Figari, Strasbourg and Toulon) and 23 international ones (Alicante, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Faro, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Valetta (Malta), Las Palmas, Madrid, Malaga, Munich, Naples, Olbia, Palermo, Palma de Mallorca, Pisa, Prague, Split, Tenerife, Venice, Santorini, Minorca and Cagliari).

Lázaro Ros, Managing Director and co-founder of Volotea, explains: "Our Bordeaux base performed well this summer and throughout the year and this reinforces our decision to continue to intensify our offer to new European destinations. Launching these routes to Cagliari and Minorca means we are providing the region’s inhabitants with an even wider choice of direct, low-cost flights to Spanish and Italian destinations."

Pascal Personne, Director of Bordeaux Airport, says: "Volotea is one of Bordeaux Airport's most dynamic airlines. It has been here since its creation in 2012 and is now the hub's best performing airline in terms of number of destinations and 2nd best low-cost airline in terms of volume. Thanks to Volotea, Bordeaux has been able to develop key markets, such as Corsica. We are delighted with these 2 new routes for 2018 and the development of holiday destinations from Bordeaux.
