An ideal climate
With 320 days of sunshine per year and an extremely mild climate (around 24°C in summer and 14°C in winter) the city of Los Angeles enjoys perfect weather conditions for walking, sports, eating out on the terrace or going to the beach. This largely explains the Californian way of life.
Admire stars’ villas

If you’re lucky, you might spot a celebrity in the ultra-chic neighbourhoods of Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, Venice, Santa Monica or Malibu, where many of them have residences or live. That said, they often remain very discreet but you can still admire their houses built in extravagant styles and striking designs.
Walk along Hollywood Boulevard

Culture and History

Once upon a time in Hollywood

Once upon a time in Hollywood

Although American cinema originated in New York, it relocated to Hollywood in 1912 to become what it is today, enjoying the light and weather conditions here that are well suited to filming. To discover this world, visit one of the production studios open to the public such as Universal, which has become a veritable amusement park, or Warner Bros, to get a look behind the scenes.

Griffith Observatory

Offering a splendid view of L.A. and the famous Hollywood sign, this observatory is nestled in the heart of the largest municipal park. Inside the building there is a fascinating exhibition on space adventure and the cosmos. The building itself is notably built in the Art Deco style, and features in Terminator and in more particularly in La La Land.

Watch two films back-to-back in Tarentino's cinema

In 2010, the famous director bought the old New Beverly cinema, which he had attended himself as a spectator until then. Since then, his private collection of 35 mm films has been shown here in double bills, i.e. two films in a row. Enjoy the opportunity to review your classics in a unique atmosphere!

Disneyland

After the creation of his studios in 1923, Walt Disney naturally opened his first Disneyland near Los Angeles in 1955. From the birth of the Mickey Mouse cartoon to the latest adrenaline-pumping rides, the amusement park continues to grow around the fabulous Sleeping Beauty’s castle. In parallel, a second park has grown up around the local landscape and the Californian adventure: gold rush, national parks, Hollywood forever...

A city on the seafront

A city on the seafront

Venice Beach, Santa Monica and Malibu reveal a completely different side to the city: one of the beach and the ocean with its blond surfers and lifeguard huts just like on television. But the spectacle is just as lively on the waterfront, where you will see bodybuilders, bikers and roller skaters showing off their skills. Make sure you admire the sunset from one of the piers, surrounded by fishermen and pelicans.

Gastronomy

Less is best

There are only two burgers available on the menu of the fast food restaurant The Apple Pan, but they disappear like hot potatoes! Since 1947, this historic eatery has been serving the famous Hickory Burger, composed of a beef burger topped with pecan sauce, mayonnaise, pickles and iceberg lettuce.

Farmers’ Market

Farmers’ Market

Founded in 1934 by 18 farmers who wanted to sell their products themselves, the Farmers' Market has become a local tradition that now has more than 160 food stands. Today, people come here more to eat than to do their shopping. There are all kinds of local and foreign specialities, but most of the fresh produce used comes from the surrounding region.
