Bordeaux Airport is accelerating its transformation to progressively enhance the passenger experience. Several improvement projects are already underway to provide a warmer welcome, increase passenger comfort, facilitate movement throughout the terminals, and prepare for future terminal developments.
A €1.8 million investment has been allocated to modernizing mobility infrastructure, including the replacement of 5 escalators, the refurbishment of 14 elevators, and the installation of 4 new elevators. These upgrades are designed to improve passenger flow throughout the terminals while enhancing accessibility.
Passenger comfort is also being strengthened through a €1.5 million program dedicated to renovating restroom facilities. The project includes the modernization of existing restrooms as well as the construction of two new restroom blocks in the billi terminal, following the expansion of its reception area in 2025.
Starting in September, Bordeaux Airport will continue its transformation with the gradual rollout of a new wayfinding and signage system, representing an investment of €95,000. The new signage is intended to improve passenger orientation and make journeys through the airport simpler and more seamless, particularly in the busiest areas.
Preparing the airport of tomorrow
These investments reflect Bordeaux Airport’s commitment to enhancing service quality by delivering a smoother, more comfortable passenger experience while preparing for the major transformations of tomorrow.
