The new Bassins de Lumières , located at the former submarine base in Bordeaux, look set to be spectacular. This digital art centre in Bordeaux has been touted as the largest in the world: a total of 13,000 sq.m, including 12,000 sq.m projection surface, four basins each 110m long, 90 overhead projectors and 80 speakers. It will be housing exhibitions focussing on major classic and contemporary artists.

Gustav Klimt will be inaugurating the venue with a sensational immersive exhibition starting on 17 April 2020. Further to its success at the Atelier des Lumières in Paris, with over a million visitors, the exhibition “Klimt, d’or et de couleurs” will inaugurate this site. The artist’s most beautiful works will be reflected in the water of the four pools.

An event which is bound to attract tourists from all over the world, like the Cité du Vin, a cultural centre unique in this world, focussing on wine, which attracted tourists of over 178 nationalities in 2019.
