Initially known as Aero Oy, the Finnish national airline was formed in 1923 and eventually renamed Finnair 30 years later. As a sustainable development and CSR pioneer that has always striven for transparency (and a member of the prestigious Oneworld airline alliance), Finnair offers its passengers remarkably high quality services and incomparable comfort. It’s little surprise, then, that Finnair is a favourite airline as far as travellers are concerned: it has won the title of Best Airline in Northern Europe every year from 2010 to 2018, and in 2019 it will be able to display its much coveted Five-Star Global Airline rating.
In 2019, it is due to start operating out of Bordeaux Airport, flying directly to Helsinki in 3 hours and 30 minutes. Its hub in the Finnish capital has links with more than 100 destinations, making it a quick and easy way to reach the rest of Europe. From Helsinki, the airline also flies to 19 destinations in Asia (in 2018) and 7 in North America (2018), as well as South Africa.
