Objects and food transported by plane
Liquids, aerosols and gels must not exceed a maximum capacity of 100 ml to be allowed past security. They should fit comfortably inside a clear plastic bag with a maximum capacity of 1 L. Only one bag is permitted per person.
All products containing 'malleable' substances are subject to the same restrictions as liquids. For example, soft nougat or cheese will be permitted as long as they do not exceed 100 ml or 100 g. There are no restrictions on solid food products with the exception of meat and meat-based products (for sanitary reasons). We nevertheless strongly recommend that you put these products in your hold luggage. The quantity of products you take with you must not exceed reasonable amounts for personal consumption.
You can take small jars and meals for children in your hand luggage, as well as pre-prepared bottles (glass or plastic), or powdered milk and then ask the cabin crew to provide you with water. Please remove these items from your hand luggage to be inspected prior to boarding.
Only drinks purchased after security checks are permitted, as they undergo special security checks to ensure they are safe.
There are no restrictions on biscuits, sandwiches or chocolate. The only food items not permitted in your hand luggage are items that fall under the "liquids, pastes or gels" category. Pastes and gels refer to all soft, malleable items such as spreads, foie gras, soft cheese (such as Munster, Camembert, etc.), honey, pâté, and so on.
Liquid or cream medication is permitted, irrespective of volume. Medication such as paracetamol is permitted in pill or powder form. You can also bring all the insulin and syringes you need on board, as well as inhalers and throat sprays. You will need to remove medication from your hand luggage at the security checks. If a security officers asks you to do so, you will need to show a medical prescription in your name, or a pharmacy certificate.
